ZONING

ALL Zoning Applications must be submitted digitally via email to Mgreco@demarestnj.gov

Please make the Subject Line of the email "Zoning Application - (ADDRESS)"

Digital application must be submitted prior to payment, Mr. Greco will let you know how much and with who to drop off the check.

Zoning permit application fees: Habitable $75 Non-habitable $50. Please see the application for more information.

Temprorary Storage Containers require a zoning permit.


Please note that permits are required for dumpsters & portable sanitary waste facilities. Application forms are located in the forms section of our page.

Inspections
As per the NJ Dept. of Consumer Affairs - ALL INSPECTIONS MUST BE REQUESTED IN WRITING by emailing inspections@demarestnj.gov.

You must provide a permit number, address, type of inspection by subcode, date/time inspection requested. Inspections will be confirmed via return email.

Property Maintenance

All residents: Please feel free to contact Joe Faulborn  at (201) 768-0167, ext. 130, or propmaint@demarestnj.gov if you should see a property that is unkempt. We need your help to keep Demarest beautiful.

Building Department News
Please be advised that in order to rent or sell your home a Certificate of Continued Occupancy is required. In order to obtain a CCO you must complete the application, pay the required fees and have the home inspected prior to any change in occupancy. This process takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks, so allow ample time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call Dot at 201-768-3398.
